Florida Judge Extends Stay in Terri Schiavo Feeding Tube Case Feb. 23 (Bloomberg) -- A Florida judge extended a ruling that prevents Terri Schiavo's husband from removing the feeding tube that is keeping his severely brain damaged wife alive. The ruling by Judge George Greer in Clearwater, Florida, allows Terri Schiavo's parents to continue for 48 hours to seek legal remedies to overturn an appellate court order in the case that allowed Michael Schiavo to seek the removal of the tubes. Michael Schiavo and his wife's parents have been battling since 1994 over whether Terri Schiavo, 41, should be kept alive. Her parents, Robert and Mary Schindler, say their daughter is able to communicate and may improve with therapy.
